Copilots in Fearless Leadership

Leaders: a group of people sitting at a bus stop

Laura Huckabee-Jennings

Sharpshooter

“I initiate change. Change is how we grow and evolve towards our vision of the future.”

It is safe to say that if the Air Force Academy accepted near-sighted pilots, Laura might never have taken the educational and career path that led her to found Transcend in 2002.

Laura graduated from Princeton University, where she earned a degree in Physical Chemistry. She then traveled to Japan where she completed her degree in Comparative Culture from Jochi (Sophia) University, and an MBA from INSEAD in France.

In working with companies that include Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola, Laura learned to manage business units and build revenues in markets around the world, including in Japan, China, Israel, Poland and the United States.

During her international career, she developed a deep understanding of organizational culture and identified the one limiting factor that kept teams from being as productive and successful as possible—fear.

Laura has a keen eye for moving organizations forward and asking the right questions to generate new insight and action. She helps organizations around the world develop fearless teams to grow their impact.

Andrew Jennings

Daredevil Engineer

“The more you know about someone, the deeper you trust them. With teams, If you don’t have trust, you don’t have anything.”

“Oh. You’re an engineer.” This is a phrase Andrew often hears the moment a client recognizes his ability to understand their unique business situation. His keen insight and practical experience allows him to drill down to the root causes of problems, and extract inspired, positive outcomes.

Andrew has a diverse background that includes a stint on an oil rig in the North Sea. While he wasn’t doing the actual drilling, he was flexing his fearless chops and developing skills that helped as he managed sales organizations and business partnerships in Europe, the United States and Asia.

Andrew holds a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and a Masters in Business & Finance. He experienced living in the UK for more than half of his career, working for French and German companies, and spending a significant amount of time managing businesses across Asia. This fearless Brit brings a unique global perspective to all his client engagements.

As a daredevil engineer, Andrew even showed up with two broken legs to one of his engagements at a US biotech company after a moto-cross accident. Fearless is who he is.
